The Aquinas Foundation are currently helping many schools in the East Midlands and London working on projects which focus on any areas the school may be struggling with for example attendance, behaviour, reading and sporting activities. We have been working closely with Pear Tree junior for the last two years on their attendance projects and have provided the school with incentives for the children to win if they improve their attendance scores.
‘The input from Aquinas has enabled us to have a huge impact on attendance. For two consecutive years we have been provided with Mountain Bikes as a prize for 100% attendance.
I consider that the improved attendance is partly due to the prizes we were offering the pupils.
In 2012/2013 year, the attendance was 91.85% which wasn’t the best.
In 2013/2014 year the attendance rose to 94.12% this is when Aquinas became involved.
In 2014/2015 year the attendance rose further to 95%. Aquinas have continued to provide a large end of year prize.
And our target for 2015/2016 is 96.1%. Aquinas is providing the school with two Bikes this year; one for the Upper school and one for the Lower school. We had a launch last Friday for attendance, and the children were excited to be in with a chance of winning various prizes, including the mountain bikes and a free trip to Drayton Manor Park.
The school are very grateful to Aquinas for supporting us to improve our school attendance. We look forward to working with them in the foreseeable future and for them to form part of our continued school success’.
Thank you as ever
